Eric Soderlund
Executive Director
For Eric, two of the most important aspects of being alive are happiness and quality of life. What better place for him to be than The Willows at Raleigh?
Eric had several careers before senior living found him a decade ago. “I quickly learned that a career in senior living would provide me with daily opportunities to have a positive impact on people.” He has served as Executive Director of The Willows since 2020. “I love connecting with my amazing residents and staff, and I’m so proud of our community and people-first culture. Every day is an opportunity for growth.”
Compassion is the core value that speaks most to Eric. “If we begin every experience from a place of compassion, we will always be off to a great start.”
When he’s not finding ways to enhance the lives of residents, Eric most likely is outdoors, either cycling, hiking, or gardening. He also likes to recharge by listening to music while pulling weeds. A perfect vacation day would be a strenuous hike with wife, Amanda, followed by a decadent dinner at a restaurant with a view. (And maybe a nap!) Eric and Amanda and their two sons also share their home with two cats, Luna and Pepper, as well as canine pal Brick.
“I’m fortunate to love what I do,” says Eric. But he does confess a secret wish: stand-up comedy.
